Ancrum is a small village in the Scottish Borders, 4 miles north of Jedburgh and just half a mile off the A68.

The astronomy club first began meeting in September of 2010 when a group of enthusiasts in the village decided to start up a club.

Consisting mainly of beginners we meet in the Ancrum Village hall .

We have great plans for the future but our main objective is to make astronomy accessible to as many people as possible.

The club has a friendly atmosphere and we now have a nice mix of beginners and more experienced observers so please don’t worry if you don’t know one end of a telescope from the other. Even those of us who have been observing for years still have fond memories of those early days.

If you are interested in astronomy or just like gazing at the stars, then you are welcome to join us at any time.
